- 1Heat oil in a large pan and fry the finely chopped onions until softened.
- 2Add the minced beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- 3Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 4Grease a round baking tray with oil.
- 5Layer one sheet of filo pastry in the tray and brush generously with oil.
- 6Spread a thin layer of the beef filling over the pastry.
- 7Add another layer of filo pastry, brush with oil, and repeat with filling.
- 8Continue alternating layers of oiled pastry and filling until you have 5-6 layers total, finishing with a layer of filo pastry brushed with oil on top.
- 9Bake at 200°C for 30 minutes until golden and crispy.
- 10Remove from oven and cut into quarters. Serve warm.
